Transparency Isn’t Optional

Public trust begins with public access.

For too long, Kingman residents have been left wondering how their tax dollars are being spent and why certain projects move forward while others never seem to happen. Budgets are approved, consultants are hired, and decisions are made — but too often, those details are buried in lengthy reports or discussed behind closed doors.

That’s not how local government should work.

As your City Council representative, I’ll make it my priority to ensure every decision, every contract, and every budget dollar is open and easy to understand.

Transparency isn’t just a campaign promise — it’s a standard of leadership. I believe residents have the right to know:

  • Where their money is going,

  • Who is benefiting from city contracts, and

  • What outcomes we’re getting in return.

When government operates in the open, trust grows. When residents can see the process, they can be part of the solution.

That’s why I’ll advocate for:

  • A public-facing spending dashboard so residents can easily see how funds are allocated and used.

  • A Consultant Accountability Policy to show deliverables for every outside contract.

  • Posting all major project updates, votes, and outcomes in a clear, easy-to-read format online.

  • Regular community meetings and Q&A sessions to answer questions directly, not through layers of bureaucracy.

Kingman families work hard for every dollar — they deserve a city government that does the same. It’s time to bring sunlight into every corner of City Hall and restore the public’s confidence in how decisions are made.

Because in Kingman, transparency isn’t optional — it’s the foundation of trust.
